DESIGN PROCESS
Alignment & Discovery
Met with the CEO to understand the visual goals of the project—replacing Apple emojis with original Wasabi-themed artwork to create a more branded, cohesive experience. We also discussed early feedback on the existing visuals and identified areas of improvement for the first iteration.
Asset Audit
Reviewed the app’s current emoji usage and documented each instance needing replacement. Paid close attention to context, tone, and function to ensure the new artwork would seamlessly integrate.
Illustration & Visual Design
Designed custom Wasabi icons in Procreate and Figma, aiming for a style that was playful, expressive, and visually clear at small sizes. Iterated quickly with feedback to align with the app’s tone and humor.

CONCLUSION & REFLECTION
Working on Wasabi challenged me to think quickly and design efficiently under tight timelines. Collaborating directly with the CEO gave me insight into rapid decision-making and the importance of aligning visual design with a product’s personality. It was rewarding to see how thoughtful visuals—from custom artwork to App Store presentation—could elevate the user’s first impression and contribute to a more cohesive brand experience. This project strengthened my ability to adapt quickly, work cross-functionally, and deliver high-impact visuals that support both user engagement and product growth.
